I Danny D’Amours am a father, husband, employee, student and resident of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.

Growing up in the northern Ontario town of Manitouwadge, I grew to love the outdoors including camping, hiking and canoeing. I also developed a love for technology and computers which led me to pursue a bachelor’s of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario.

Upon graduation, I worked at Castek Software which is a software company which made policy management and claims software for the insurance sector and has since been acquired by Oracle Financial Services.

I currently work at a federal research lab in Fredericton doing software development and development support. Along with technology and computers, I am also curious and interested in almost every field and subject ranging from history to economics and from geography to astronomy. This means that I’m always interested in something which can keep me pretty busy. It also means that I’d probably do pretty well at game like Jeopardy. I look at it as being a more rounded generalist as opposed to somebody that is a true expert in one tiny niche but ignorant of larger trends and happenings in the world.
