It appears that the effects of the recession are starting to show in the habits of computer buyers.
- HP has missed its revenue targets by $3 billion (but hits profit targets).
- Apple sales have gone from 50% year over year increases to – 6%
I guess after laying off a lot of staff, companies have a bunch of spare hardware laying around so that they don’t need to buy any more desktops and laptops. Meanwhile the unemployed Joe Six Pack no longer has the money to buy Jobs’ latest flashy MacBook or a cheap new Windows desktop.
I have a feeling that this recession won’t be as short as they were previously predicting.
